TEENS TELL THEIR STORY : Week 1 – Struggles of Being a Teen

Dear Awesome Reader,

The launch of the Teens Tell Their Story Project has finally arrived and I can’t wait to begin!

Our first topic, which will last the duration of this week, is …

The Struggles of Being a Teen!

We thought this would be a great way to start off the project where we could relate to one another. You can write your post at any point during this week and be sure to use the tag “Teens Tell Their Story”. Also include a link to this post! You can write as little or as much as you’d like, and you can create a poem, story, or simply just write in prose as I am now. It’s entirely up to you!

The next topic will be posted next week on Sherina’s blog where we will be including a link to a post which we believe to be exceptionally good regarding the given topic.

Anyway, I’m going to briefly share some ideas for this week’s topic and feel free to include similar things in your post, (but perhaps you’d want to go into more detail!)

The first thing I’d like to mention is…HORMONES. They have A LOT to answer for: they can affect our mood, in some cases drastically; make us say things that maybe we wouldn’t want to say; help produce these things called spots…and the list goes on! Ugh, the struggle!

Alongside this, we have to deal with this thing called SCHOOL. And we can face problems such as: not being able to fit in; being social unsociable; generally being an awkward teenager. Luckily I have acquired the best friendship group ever, *aww* which means we can be as weird and awkward and crazy as we like. So how about we create this online community where we can be awkward teenagers together!

I think as well, as we’re growing up, sometimes it can feel as though we’re growing up too fast and having to make choices too early. Sometimes it feels as though we should be deciding on what career we’d like to go into right now. Does it feel like that to you?

But above all, we’re still young and still trying to find out who we are and that can be quite scary. One day you could wake up feeling as though you know exactly where to go, and other days you have no idea about who you want to be and which path to take. Ultimately, we are going to continue to change as people throughout our life and it’s a journey we’re going to have to take!

So that was my little interpretation of the week’s topic and I hope you find it interesting! I’m looking forward to reading your responses! 🙂

There’s also a Twitter Party starting at 5:00 pm (UK Time) today, in celebration of the launch so come and join in! ❤

Thank you for being a part of this community. ^.^
